Matthew is a PhD student co-supervised by Ljiljana Fruk (Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) and Tijmen Euser (Physics) who is using hollow-core photonic crysal fibres (HC-PCF) to investigate flavin-based photocatalysts. He holds a MSci in Biochemistry with Professional Studies (Queen's University Belfast) and a MRes in Sensor Technologies and Applications (University of Cambridge). He has experience in immunoassay development, bioconjugation chemistry and nanoparticle synthesis, having previously worked within industry as a bioconjugation chemist and as a research assistant within Dr Cuong Cao's group at Queen's University Belfast.
